AP today:

BALTIMORE — The nation's Roman Catholic bishops, at an annual assembly Monday, gave two standing ovations to the Vatican's U.S. ambassador who was behind Pope Francis' controversial meeting with Kim Davis.

No one in the filthy Roman Catholic landscape is more disgusting than the US Council of Catholic Bishops. Appalling creatures, each and every one. If there is a hell (and of course, there isn't), that is where these men belong.

Fighting tooth and nail against the love of two people -- because Jesus. Ugh. Just ugh.

Bishops' anti-gay hatred may harm immigrants

In an article about how Roman Catholic bishops intend to kill the US immigration bill because, ahem, it respects gay people, there are many gems. Here's one:

It seems unlikely the bishops would accept any provision for same-sex partners—even for an issue as important to the church as immigration. In their drive for greater orthodoxy among Catholics, bishops have made preserving traditional marriage a priority. Last week, San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, who leads the bishops' marriage efforts, said the struggle against gay marriage is a gift from God "and by overcoming it we may achieve spiritual greatness." He made the comments in an interview with The Catholic Herald, a news outlet in Britain.

This is very much like the Roman Catholic approach to adoption. They close down Catholic adoption facilities in areas where gays gain the right to adopt children. They actually do this. They deny homes to all the children in their care to avoid placing one child with a loving, gay family. How's that for morals?

So it comes as no surprise that they're ready to throw immigrants overboard rather than allow the rules of immigration to respect gay couples. That's some church they've got there. Raping kids, denying kids loving homes, and now slamming the doors in the faces of immigrants -- that's the ugly face of the Roman Catholic church. It is evil personified.

Bishops' Orwell-speak

You've got to hand it to the Catholic bishops. They've got this Orwell-speak thing down pat.

The headline over at the NYT is "Bishops say rules on gay parents limit freedom of religion". I burst out laughing every time I see this Orwellian statement. Allow me to translate for you.

Here's the expanded version of that angry statement by the bishops:

Bishops say rules that limit their ability to discriminate against gay parents and deny them services available to everyone else infringe on their god-given right to act viciously and hatefully to one segment of society.
