So much for the new Superman movie

Superman is Jesus. More precisely, in the new movie, Superman: Man of Steel, we are meant to draw very distinct parallels between Superman and Jesus. Arguably, the movie goes a step further making Superman the modern-day, Americanized Jesus.
Jeez, it's like when Ridley Scott ruined the latest Alien movie by making it all about jeebus. Christians ruin everything. It's what they do.

Leaving the Scouts for Bizarro World

There is a strange article at NBC news about anti-gay fathers pulling their sons out of the Scouts now that gay kids are welcome in the organization. They seem to think the inclusion of gays instantly transformed every troop into Sodom and Gomorrah.

Consequently, a few wingnut fathers had half-a-chat with their sons, and told them they could no longer be a part of their beloved Boy Scouts. The kids were crushed.
“I feel pretty bad about it,” Evan [a boy whose father pulled him out] told NBC News, noting he liked the camp-outs, and archery and slingshot activities he enjoyed in Pack 56. He said that he understood there was a vote that led to his parents’ decision. He explained that he understood it as: “It was between honor and God, and not honoring God. And [not] honoring God got more votes.”
The poor kid doesn't even know why his father is pulling him from his favorite activities. That explanation reminds me of how some parents describe sex to their kids without ever mentioning, you know, sex. Here's another tale from the article:
“It was hard to explain to a 9-year-old the complexities of why I was telling him that we had to quit,” Miller said. “He told me, 'Daddy, it should be like church. Everybody should be welcome.'”
Miller said he then told Cody that the point of going to church is to seek forgiveness — not for being all-inclusive.

“I said, 'These people aren’t asking for your forgiveness,'” Miller, 51, told NBC News in a telephone interview. “What they're doing is saying, 'this is what I am and you have to accept me like I am. I'm not coming to try to change.'
Seriously, these are episodes from Bizarro World. I can just imagine the sparkling, new organization these fathers will create for their holy Scouts. They'll probably stage a crucifixion each week to keep the boys on their toes. Maybe dress them up in vestments now and then to play "mass".

Gay-hating men are so weird. I don't think they even understand what they object to. It's just a big, mushy, frightening thing in their brains. It scares them so much that testosterone rages through their bodies and clouds their brains even further. They seem to think they're fighting a war, or something.

Hey, dads. Get over yourselves. Gay people exist and we're not going away. You'll  have to accept us or go find a hole in the ground to live in. And congratulations on making your sons cry for no rational reason. You sure know how to be great dads! PS: Enjoy Father's Day. Maybe someone special will give you some valium.

Did Jesus travel extensively?

(Phys.org)—The quest for a twin Earth is heating up. Using NASA's Kepler spacecraft, astronomers are beginning to find Earth-sized planets orbiting distant stars. A new analysis of Kepler data shows that about 17 percent of stars have an Earth-sized planet in an orbit closer than Mercury. Since the Milky Way has about 100 billion stars, there are at least 17 billion Earth-sized worlds out there.
Do you think Jesus visited all those planets to save their people? Sure, right? Jesus wouldn't leave anyone out. He's all-good, after all. Busy guy, though. Good thing he got around to visiting Earth. Hmmm, I wonder if Earth was an afterthought. We sure are lucky he came here, huh?

I wonder

Every star twinkling in the night sky plays host to at least one planet, a new study suggests. That implies there are some 10 billion Earth-sized planets in our galaxy.
I wonder if Jeebus visited them all. He must have, huh? Watta guy!

Religion is selfish

Religious people are so selfish that they are ghastly to look upon. They are abominations.

Think about it. It's all about them and their "salvation", isn't it? Nothing else in the universe matters except that they persist like the most virulent virus, all the way into eternity. Consider how repulsively self-important this endeavor is.

And all the people who don't believe in their little cult? They can go to hell, literally. So the religious not only get to go to heaven, they also get the thrill of knowing that everyone else will burn in agony for all eternity. Kids, too! Anyone can be thrown into hell. It's an equal opportunity kind of place. So it's a win-win thing for the religious -- splendor for them; suffering for eternity for everyone else. Oh, and their god is "love". Sweet, huh?

No, it isn't. It's sickening. These religious fools think the entire universe -- and the multiverse, should it exist -- revolves around them. Nothing matters except that they snag the grand prize. Reality is just a big mirror for these folks -- there's nothing but them and their goddamned salvation.

And when they finally do claw their way into heaven, they will live forever, alongside other, brain-dead beings just like them, folks who followed the same, pinhead path and never allowed one new idea to enter their brains. And for this selfish, dimwitted philosophy, they demand our respect -- and eternity.

Religious people are disgusting.
