I always get pissed off when I see variations of this story (the following is from today's news):
[Ohio] made preparations Wednesday to use a never-tried lethal drug combination to execute a man for the slaying of a pregnant woman that went unsolved until he inadvertently led authorities to himself.
Like
they couldn't mosey down to the corner, in any city in the United
States, and buy some heroin. That would kill the guy for sure and there
would be no problems such as almost-deaths or incalculable pain and
horror.
But see, the inmate's "passing" might be fun if they used heroin. Can't have the poor slob die in a pleasant way. That wouldn't be Christian.
In fact, in the United States they won't use heroin in hospices.
Obviously, no one's "passing" should be pleasant. Painful death is a
Christian virtue -- and this is a Christian country. Make no mistake
about that.
